Mountain Medicine Rock Climbing Exchange - Call For Volunteers!

Posted by Jeremy Windsor on Oct 26, 2020

Thinking ahead to 2021, Owen Samuel and Jamie Barclay have just been in touch with this request...

"Starting on Friday 15th May 2021 (COVID permitting!) we are planning a week long Swiss - British rock climbing exchange in North Wales. If you're interested in being a host for one of our Swiss guests please contact us through the blog and include work details, mountain medicine experience and climbing background in your reply.

We're looking for competent rock climbers, who are interested in mountain medicine, to support our Swiss guests. Hopefully we can help them enjoy the many fantastic climbs North Wales has to offer. Ideally, hosts should be able to lead VS and above, be familiar with the "classic" routes of North Wales and have access to a car. However none of these are essential!

A Dream Of White Horses (HVS 5a) - arguably one of the best sea cliff climbs in North Wales and possibly, the world!

Evening events will include a visit to a local helicopter base, a medical exercise with a local mountain rescue team and a talk from a local climbing "legend".

Our aim is get a group of approximately 6 – 10 Group d’ Intervention Medical Montagne (GRIMM) members (we already have 14 who've expressed an interest!) and 6 – 10 British hosts. Why not join us?"

Thanks Owen and Jamie - sounds like a tremendous week!

I think there may be a problem with the contact page of your website. Is there an email address that I can message you about this on? Cheers
